HIGH CONSTRUCTION COSTS IN UGANDA, WHY IS THAT?

However, one pressing challenge that often hampers the progress of construction projects is the issue of high construction costs. These escalating costs can impede infrastructure development, housing initiatives, and overall economic growth. - Limited local production and reliance on imported materials:
One of the primary factors driving up construction costs in Uganda is the limited local production of construction materials. The construction industry heavily depends on imported materials such as cement, steel, glass, and machinery, leading to increased expenses due to transportation costs, import duties, and fluctuating exchange rates.
